Matheson has been awarded "European Law Firm of the Year 2015" at the Hedge Fund Journal Awards.  The awards ceremony, which took place in London on 22 January 2015, was held to recognise the leading service providers to the European hedge fund industry.

Matheson recently hosted a briefing, in conjunction with the Society for Computers and Law, on the Evolution and Reform of Data Protection Law to coincide with Data Protection Day, which Ireland’s new Data Protection Commissioner, Helen Dixon, attended as a guest speaker.

Matheson has won “Law Firm of the Year” at the 2014 Irish Pension Awards. According to the organisers, Matheson “stands out in its dedication to understanding the complexities of pensions legislation, and works with its clients to see them through the legal maze.”

Matheson was twice highly commended in the FT 2014 Innovative Lawyers’ Report as one of Europe’s most innovative law firms in dispute resolution. Matheson was the only Irish law firm commended in the dispute resolution category of the prestigious report this year.

Matheson announced as one of the Financial Times’ 50 Most Innovative Law Firms in Europe 2014 for the third consecutive year. This year, the firm was highly commended for its work on both the Element Six dispute resolution case and for gaining a favourable settlement for a banking client in a complex multi-jurisdictional, multi-party dispute.

Matheson named best AIFMD Law Firm in Europe 2014 by Wealth & Finance International.  Matheson is the number one ranked funds practice in Ireland, acting for 28% of Irish domiciled investment funds by assets under management as at 30 June 2014.
